The Upper Franconian value textile discounter NKD, which is represented in Germany, Austria, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Poland and the Czech Republic, is reorganising its top management. Effective 1 October 2023, Nils Bolender will take over the position of CFO in the NKD Group’s management. The three-member executive board will then consist of CEO Alexander Schmökel, Nils Bolender (CFO) and Christian Welles (CSO).
With Mr Bolender, the NKD Group has recruited an experienced expert with both national and international perspectives who knows the industry from different vantage points. He possesses in-depth expertise, which he demonstrated in his previous role as Group CFO of the ALDI Nord Group, among others. With more than 20 years of professional experience in senior financial positions, Mr Bolender brings valuable know-how to his new role.
The previous CFO of the NKD Group, Stefan Macheleidt, decided to leave the company with effect from 14 September 2023 at his own request and in amicable agreement with the management and shareholder TDR. Mr Macheleidt worked for the NKD Group since July 2021.
Alexander Schmökel, CEO of the NKD Group, said: ‘Stefan Macheleidt made a significant contribution to the growth and success of our company. On behalf of all employees and the shareholder, I would like to thank him most sincerely for his outstanding commitment. With Nils Bolender, we are gaining an experienced industry expert who will ensure the necessary continuity and play a key role in our transformation into a data-driven company.’
Nils Bolender, the designated CFO of the NKD Group, expressed his anticipation of his new position: ‘I look forward to putting my many years of financial and retail experience to good use at the NKD Group, one of Europe’s leading value textile discounters. My goal is to chart the course for a successful future and set new milestones for the company.’
